The Injector provides a unique and improved method of implanting RFID tags (also referred to as transponders) for digital identification of rodents.
Injector is a re-usable handheld device to which a Digitail tag cartridge is attached, enabling the subcutaneous implantation of the Somark Digitail tag into rodent tails. Unlike other RFID injection devices, Injector does not push the RFID tag into the tissue. The needle is inserted into the tail as shown below.

Injector provides a button, that when pressed, retracts the needle into the cartridge hub, leaving the tag in place - a minimally invasive, fast and extremely accurate method of implanting RFID tags in rodents.
Animals do not need to be anaesthetised, and the only prep recommended is a quick wipe of alcohol on the tail.
The procedure is easy and fast to learn and master and be performed by novice animal technicians. You do not need prior experience, for example, of tail vein injections.
