The example below illustrates how fields indicate a mandatory field - marked with an asterisk * and when a field offers a list of values to choose from.
Where a field is mandatory, it means you must input a valid value to save the record.
When a list of values is provided, you must select from that list to complete the field.
The following table lists the main icons used in SensaLab Study, where you will see them and what they represent or enable as an action.

|Used in Workbench - the arrow returns the cage back to the rack|
|Used in Workbench - the + enables you to add an animal to a cage, or in Tasks - the + enables you to add a Result to the Task|
|Used in Workbench - by clicking on the cross and holding your mouse button, you can drag an animal record from one cage to another|
|Used in Workbench - the option enables you to delete a record|
|Used in Workbench - the option enables you to mark an animal as culled, or in Tasks, this icon means the Task Status is Discarded|
|Used in Tasks - this option enables you to Discard a Task, i.e. mark is as not needing to be completed|
|Used in Tasks, this indicates that the Status of the Result is Incomplete / Not entered|
|Used in Lists (such as the Animal List), this will reset or clear any filters you have applied to the list|
|Used in Results, this icon will display the History of the result (if the value has been changed)|
|Used in Results, this indicates that the value recorded is within defined Ethical Endpoint tolerances|
|Used in Results, this indicates that the value recorded is close to exceeding defined Ethical Endpoint tolerances, and the case should be reviewed|
|Used in Results, this indicates that the value recorded is outside defined Ethical Endpoint tolerances, and action should be taken|
